The mixture of Yahoo’s interface and Microsoft’s technology could bring about a revolution in the IT business, but is Bill Gates too late for that? Microsoft’s tale of unusual product development began with Vista. Well a total ‘eye candy’ that was on the latest desktop and laptop systems but it just wasn’t good enough! The target market has moved towards mobile devices rather than the usual PC. Microsoft’s mobile operating system has never been up to date with the need of the customer. Google and Apple on the other hand are creating platforms for mobile devices which mimic the features on any latest PC.
The race to takeover Yahoo has been going on behind closed doors for a long time but the Wall Street Journal recently quoted that Yahoo could sell for US$ 50 Billion. The anxiety rather the urgency for Microsoft is ever increasing. They are being shot down at every opportunity to create something new. Speaking of new creation Microsoft’s latest gaming console the Xbox 360 has again succumbed to Sony’s PS3. Their latest portable MP3 player, the Zune, hasn’t been able to overtake the iPod. Getting back to the takeover, Microsoft has opted for a joint venture with Yahoo and with this they would be able to grab 27% of the advertising market which does not yet surpass Google at 65%.
If the merger is to take place the combination of MSN’s classy approach and Yahoo’s ability to attract the younger generation could very well be the next big thing in the market. Again if the merger was to take place think about the elaborate processes that has to be dealt with. The colossal size of the merging deal would send a shockwave throughout the business world; secondly the clash between the towering egos within the two IT giants can bring about a lot of media attention. A cold air of skeptism lurks about the internet, maybe the deal about the takeover is the calmness before the storm, but in this case the calmness is more exciting.
Let’s talk about the best scenario if Microsoft was to takeover Yahoo. Together they can bring about exciting solutions for the advertisers; they would be able to generate new possibilities for the consumers. But hasn’t Google being doing these as an everyday process? Frankly speaking it is hard for anyone to behold and believe that Microsoft will pull it off. The president of the Microsoft Corporation Kevin Johnson is working immensely hard to strive towards a new beginning but Microsoft’s search business has finally mired. The bottom line is that Microsoft needs to figure out how to overcome the outreach of the Google industry and buying Yahoo might not be one of the safest solutions.

New Generation BlackBerry = Old Apple iPhone

Steve Job and Mike Lazaridis draw guns once again. The all new Blackberry Bold could very well be an alternative for the iPhone. The two well known CEOs could as well be striving towards the same peak. Even though the multi touch screen feature was available to iPhone users exclusively but the Bold wasn’t far behind...Or was it? Was the Bold targeting the same market that Apple had already captured?
With more than 270,000 iPhones sold in the first 24hrs of its launch in 2007, the numbers may rise well over a million now. RIM however launched the Blackberry Bold on 12th May 2008. Even though Mike Lazaridis was at the forefront of the ‘war against touch screens’, he eventually realized that Apple had made the touch screen work towards their advantage.
The Bold wasn’t necessarily a race towards achieving the hold over the iPhone users, as the actual design of the Bold was created in 2006, as commented by Lazaridis. But before we go ahead and take Blackberry’s side, think about this for a moment, the Bold is the first Blackberry to synchronize with ‘iTunes’, while Apple has been doing that for as long as ‘forever’.
Lazaridis did retaliate with all guns blazing, stating that the market demanded more from a phone, i.e. they should be able to run PC applications on them without making them bulky and cumbersome and RIM came out with the solution, despite of the features being hardly different from the iPhone.
I’m not stating that the Blackberry is ripping off the style of the iPhone but come on!! , it’s just the look that’s different. We just can’t blame Apple for thinking ahead and not waiting for the competitor to reap the profits. Yes, yes, I know that the Bold has unprecedented performance when it comes to office applications and high speed internet service but does it really matter now?, because Apple launched of it a year ahead of them.

Born in Dallas, Texas Jeff Dunham is a puppet genius. Since when have we seen a stand up ventriloquist? He has been the star of comedy central at least a dozen times for his stupendous ability. He graduated from Baylor University and since his college days he has been on the forefront of ventriloquism. He is not one of your amateur puppeteers because every one of his characters has a different voice and boy can he pull it off!! Jeff has been using this intricate ability to the best of his advantage, from performing live stage shows to making DVDs, he has made a good name for himself. His first act was “Arguing with myself” which is no doubt an irony. An extraordinary creature, a ‘Woozle’ to be precise was featured in his act. He is a purple monkey-like animal but with an eccentric attitude. He is called Peanut and comes up with explicit jokes and sometimes targets the crowd to gel with, speaking of which the ‘Gel’ reminds him of what ‘Lotion’ would mean in prison.

Jeff has this astounding ability to manipulate his voice in different ways which makes him quite unique. Well, moving on to his second puppet that is no doubt the most annoyed and ill tempered, smart mouth gem of a man, Walter. He is an old man married for 48 years, to his wife, like he mentions during the show. Jeff and he commute on the real issues of life and how it has changed during his lifetime. Walter makes unorthodox jokes about his wife and a few of the audience members. He is basically frustrated with everyone at all times and is that a sight to see! Jeff has this authentic ability as a comedian to make fun of himself through his puppets which makes him even more genuine.

Now it is time for Jose Jalapeno on a stick, oh yes another one of his illusive characters though a Mexican chili on a stick. Jose has the basic Mexican accent and always has an argument with Peanut on Jeff’s other hand. Peanut comments on his legality to be in the United States while Jose is quite cool, calm and collected in his approach. In every act Jeff brings out the uncanny relationship between Peanut and Jose.

Not far behind comes along one of the most favorite characters for every one ‘Achmed’- the dead terrorist. No doubt that he is a sight for sore eyes because he is just skull and bones which Walter mentions as a ‘Stinking Halloween Decoration’. Jeff and Achmed talk about the ever rising trouble in the Middle East and how Achmed as a suicide bomber deals with the situation. Achmed is quite famous for his appalling comments he makes on film stars and other famous personalities. Achmed was promised by his mentor in the suicide bomber training facility camp that he would get 72 virgins waiting for him after he has done his job. Jeff makes him realize that he is dead and he accepts his fate and continues with is dark and dire jokes about everyone.

Jeff Dunham has released his second DVD called ‘Sparks of Insanity’ where he features three new characters that are no doubt breathtaking. Firstly Jeff introduced Sweet Daddy D, his new manager and no doubt a puppet. Sweet Daddy presents himself as a Player In a Management Profession, in short PIMP. Then comes along pure white trash trailer park man (as mentioned in his show) called Bubba Jay. He is your average American Nascar lover with an I.Q. of a mouse. Beer, hockey and family reunions are what Bubba lives for. Bubba talks about his wife and how he met her in the family reunion and he also mentions that his wife is his second cousin and probably for him that’s a gray area.

Moving along to one of Jeff’s last characters and probably the one with the essence of becoming the world’s greatest super hero, Melvin. Jeff question Melvin about his astonishing abilities and how they are just like superman. Melvin responds with style and proves that Superman has issues. He is said to have dated Cat Woman and has a lot of superhero friends. During one of his acts Melvin loses his hair which makes him a bald superhero. He too makes comments about famous personalities.

Well last but not the least Jeff himself, who is definitely not a puppet. Jeff Dunham has is stand alone jokes which works up the crowd before the main course. He is an individual with tremendous brilliance and poise. His suave nature and twisted sense of humor is taking him to the top. He has been married to Paige Dunham for 18 years and they have three children together namely Bree, Ashlyn and Kenna. Jeff Dunham is at the peak of his career and he is soon to become a comedy legend.
